Mat and Robby

The Block smashed the ratings again last night, taking top spot both overall and in averages. With a total TV national reach of 2,743,000 and a national average of 1,569,000 the show beat both Nine and Seven news as well as The Block.

Ben and Emma were on the receiving end of some disappointing feedback, with judges calling Ben and Emma’s neutral tones a bit “meh”.

“Where’s the luxury?” Marty asked. “It lacks the richness of their other rooms. The styling. The furniture. There’s nothing about it that makes you go aha, I really remember the loungeroom of House One.”

“The lack of sophistication in here really throws me. We are at Daylesford, not an apartment block,” Shaynna said.

Alicia and Sonny also took a hit in the judges’ feedback, with Shaynna describing the room as “confused”.

“They got all the styling wrong. All of it. I’m really concerned about their style direction,” she explained.

Ultimately, it was Mat and Robby who took out the round with a living and dining area that “is really nailing the brief”.
