Overnight 1.5 million Aussies tuned in to lock in Australian Idol’s Top 6. In Seven’s broadcast, which pulled in a total TV national average audience of 910,00, Charlie Moon and Simela Petridis were eliminated after receiving the fewest votes from viewers, trimming the Top 8 down to six contenders still in the running for the grand prize.
Amy Shark reflected the night’s mix of emotions, highlighting the calibre of the remaining contestants, before admitting that the elimination was “sad for us.”
“I love watching these guys perform every week, but it’s exciting that they have shown the country what they are capable of.”
In its first episode of the final week, Married At First Sight topped the charts once again hauling in a national reach of 2,983,000 and an average audience of 1,821,000. For the second year in a row, the brides and grooms were put to the ultimate test. They were joined by other people who had applied for the show. The catch, these people were deemed as compatible matches by the experts.
As you could have imagined some individuals dealt with the test better than others. Amongst the men, Scott and David felt so uncomfortable about the test that they sat it out in the bathroom. Demonstrating that the only people they care about is their wives.
Ironically, their wives Gia and Alissa were frothing at the task. They both used the opportunity to flirt with the possible matches.
At one point Alissa even joked about getting her match to drop his pants to show her his tattoo. “It is on your arse? Are you going to drop your pants?” she asked.
The two will have to face the fallout from the test on tonight’s episode.
Network 10’s Australian Survivor continued last night. The most recent episode finished 21st on the overnight TV ratings with a reach of 765,000 and an average of 431,000.
