Surprise, surprise, The Block did the numbers again last night with a total TV national reach of 2,018,000 and a national average of 1,093,000. But the real surprise came to the contestants with Emma and Ben announcing they were expecting their first child.
Emma, now twelve weeks pregnant with a baby boy, confirmed the news, saying that she found out that she was expecting on the same day host Scott Cam called them to confirm they have made it onto the show.
“It was a bit wild. But I said to Ben: ‘We are doing it and we will just take it as it comes!’ and we have been for the past six weeks,” she said.
“This news is huge. This is the start of the next chapter of our lives,” said Ben. “Starting a family, it’s something we’ve been talking about for a year, probably, and now it’s happening.”
The whole crew was excited, but none more than Cam, who seemingly invited himself into the growing family.
“Oh my god. Congratulations, I’m going to be a grandfather again!” he cheered before suggesting they name the bub “Scotty”.
The new bundle of joy, however, couldn’t be coming at a less opportune time, with his date of arrival scheduled for Auction Week.
