It was all hands on deck in The Block on Tuesday night as Courtney and Sev’s waterproofing disaster threatened to derail their build — and sent tensions soaring between contestants and tradies.

Courtney and Sev’s waterproofer ignored the approved matting system and instead rolled on a liquid membrane overnight, leaving the pair with no choice but to rip up their waterproofing and start again for the second time.

The costly mistake proved to be the final straw, with the contractor sacked on site after reportedly refusing to follow instructions throughout the week.

Despite the chaos, The Block continued to dominate the entertainment field for Nine, ranking third among Tuesday night’s top 30 programs with a Total TV National Reach of 1,948,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,045,000. It also recorded a 254,000 BVOD National Average Audience.

Over on Seven, The Voice Australia continued to pull a sizeable audience, ranking fourth overall with a 1,690,000 national reach and 945,000 average audience, including 194,000 viewers on BVOD.

Nine also had a strong showing with A Current Affair reaching 1,644,000 and averaging 1,094,000, while Tipping Point Australia reached 1,512,000 and averaged 837,000. Home And Away also performed strongly for Seven, reaching 1,357,000 nationally and averaging 956,000, with a further 248,000 on BVOD.

Ten’s The Traitors Australia reached 1,020,000 viewers and averaging 574,000, including a 116,000 BVOD average audience. The Cheap Seats also reached 826,000 and averaged 476,000.

Meanwhile, SBS’s Insight saw a national reach of 515,000 and an average audience of 166,000.
