Seven’s Home and Away had Australians glued to the screen on Wednesday night, delivering one of the strongest BVOD audiences on Wednesday night of 287,000.

While not the highest BVOD program overall – with both Seven News (191,000) and 9News (213,000) leading streaming audiences – the long-running Seven soap still stood out among entertainment titles, ranking as one of the top scripted performers on catch-up.

Last night’s episode focused on heightened emotional tension in Summer Bay, with relationships pushed to breaking point amid ongoing interpersonal conflict and fallout from recent storylines. That combination of character-driven drama and continuing arcs helped drive post-broadcast viewing, as audiences returned via BVOD to catch up after the linear airing.

The episode reached a total national audience of 1,319,000 and averaged 959,000 on linear TV, placing it 8th overall for the night in total TV reach – a solid performance in a competitive schedule dominated by news and factual programming.

At the top of the table, Seven News led overall with 2,210,000 reach, ahead of 9News on 2,020,000, continuing the tightly contested nightly news battle.

In entertainment and factual, Seven’s My Reno Rules was the strongest non-news performer with 1,649,000 reach, while Nine’s Events That Changed Australia (1,536,000), A Current Affair (1,517,000), and Tipping Point Australia (1,466,000) formed a strong block of mid-evening performers.

ABC remained consistent with ABC News and 7.30 both posting 1,274,000 reach, while Network 10’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival delivered 831,000.

Despite stiff competition across news and factual formats, Home and Away remained a key scripted BVOD performer for Seven, reinforcing the ongoing strength of serial drama in catch-up viewing habits.
