A First Dates Australia date took a slightly unexpected turn on Tuesday when Eloise discovered her match Paras wasn’t just a Sydney local — he is in fact her neighbour.
The pair, both based in Sydney’s Olympic Park, quickly realised their apartment buildings look directly onto each other after meeting for their date.
“We’re literally neighbours,” Eloise told him, to which he laughed and asked what time of day she goes to the gym.
Despite living so close to one another, the pair had apparently never crossed paths before being matched on the Seven dating format.
The episode aired Tuesday night as First Dates Australia continued its run on Seven, recording a Total TV National Reach of 1,163,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 496,000.
It also recorded a National BVOD Average Audience of 88,000.
The dating format ranked 10th among the night’s top 30 programs, behind a strong showing from Nine’s The Block.
The Block’s Tuesday episode was the night’s top entertainment performer, recording a Total TV National Reach of 1,939,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,103,000, alongside a BVOD average audience of 265,000.
Seven’s First Dates followed among the network’s strongest non-news offerings, while Ten’s The Cheap Seats recorded a Total TV National Average Audience of 420,000 and a reach of 779,000.
Ten’s Sydney Harbour Cops also performed strongly, recording a 379,000 average audience and 804,000 national reach.
On ABC, repeat episodes of Hard Quiz recorded a 404,000 average audience and 709,000 reach, while SBS’s Shaun Micallef’s Origin Odyssey drew a 230,000 average audience and 484,000 reach.
