Last night, Aussies tuned in for day four of the Australian Open, which saw Alex de Minaur save the day from complete disaster after other Aussie players were beaten.
Talia Gibson, who fought valiantly, was knocked out before Storm Hunter and Alja Tomljanovic were also sent packing. Things then got worse with Cruz Hewitt and James Duckworth wiped out in straight sets.
Alex de Minaur, known affectionately as ‘Demon’, entered his match against Serbian player Hamad Medjedovic as the favourite and got off to a slow start, dropping the first set, before winning in four.
The day four night session attracted a Total TV national average audience of 1,033,000 and reached 2,478,000 viewers for Nine.
The day session attracted an audience of 371,000 and a national reach of 2,219,000.
Over on Seven, sports also won the ratings, with a national average audience of 647,000 tuning in to the BBL to watch the Hobart Hurricanes win a rain affected game against the Melbourne Stars.
On Channel 10, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! raked in a National Average Audience of 693,000.
ABC’s Hard Quiz season 11 brought in a National Average Audience of 516,000.
