Seven had all eyes on it, broadcasting to over two million viewers in both the Ashes and the BBL.
The third Test in Adelaide began yesterday and a total TV national average audience of 1,082,00 tuned in to see Australia fight to 8-326. The English showed a lot more ticker in this match than the other two, taking screamers in the field and restricting the Aussie batsmen with some tight bowling. Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers picking up three wickets.
For the Aussies, Carey hit the most amount of runs tonning up in front of his home crowd. Unfortunately, for the Aussies he couldn’t continue the onslaught and was dismissed for 106.
The BBL tells a similar story for Seven, with the coverage of the Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers eclipsing a reach of two million. In the match Sydney Sixers were looking to get their campaign back on track after losing their first. As the story goes, the men in magenta were unsuccessful in doing so losing to the Strikers by three wickets in front of a reach of 683,000.
For Nine and 10 their most watched entertainment programs were Tipping Point and a re run of Jack Reacher.
Channel Nine’s Tipping Point managed to wrestle the cricket for a reach of 1,201,000 and an average of 594,000.
Over on 10, a documentary on Jack Reacher still managed a reach of 634,000, but the viewers must have quickly caught on that it was a repeat because the average dwindled to 168,000.
