Day 10 of Milano Cortina wrapped up with no new medals for Australia, but there was still plenty of action overnight.
Australia’s Josie Baff narrowly missed out on a another Winter Olympic gold medal after a crash in the mixed snowboard cross final quashed medal hopes. Baff and her teammate Adam Lambert had advanced to the showdown of four partners, but Lambert collided with Italian Lorenzo Sommariva on the last turn.
The crash left Lambert far behind the leaders, and Baff was unable to make up the gap in her leg, ending their campaign just short of a podium finish.
Aussie monobob pilot Bree Walker was in gold medal contention, even occupying the number one spot following one of her heats. Despite, strong and relentless efforts, Walker missed out on an Olympic podium finish, leaving her devastate but proud of her performance on the world stage.
Big air events saw some incredible tricks and medals decided by razor-thin margins, Aussie hopefuls rallying in snowboard and freeski disciplines were hoping to build momentum as the finals continue.
The nights big aerial spectacle was won by international competitors, although Australia’s dominance in winter sports continues to grow and underscores a historic rise for the team.
Despite no Aussie medals beings won, Milano Cortina still managed to wrangle a Total TV National Reach of 2,620,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,046,000.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! struggled to compete with the likes of the winter Olympics and Married At First Sight (MAFS), coming in at number 19 with a Total TV National Reach of 921,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 512,000.
As expected MAFS, yet again took out the top spot claiming a Total TV National Reach of 3,117,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,776,000.
