Seven’s summer of Cricket is slowly coming to its end, but that hasn’t stopped the broadcaster from capitalising on the final week of the BBL regular season.
Overnight, more than two millions viewers tuned in to watch Sydney Thunder snatch its second win of the season in the “battle of the west”. With 20 deliveries remaining against the Melbourne Renegades, the Thunder’s sixth straight loss seemed inevitable. That was before Chris Green and Nic Maddison decided to go ballistic with the bat, blasting a combined quickfire 45 to steal their second victory of the tournament for a total TV national average audience of 609,000 people to see.
The BBL continues tonight with the Adelaide Strikers needing a much needed victory over the Melbourne Stars.
Over on Nine, a repeat of Travel Guides pulled in a total TV national reach of 1,654,000 and an average of 732,000. Viewers were blasted into the past when Beauty and the Geek stars Karly and Bri joined the gang for the first time in Northern India and Nepal. In the episode they stayed at an Ashram, frocked-up at an Indian wedding, and marvelled at the Taj Mahal.
The broadcast of the 83rd annual Global Globes was the most popular program for 10, raking in a reach of more than one million and an average of 265,000. Host, comedian Nikki Glaser stole the show with her opening speech, roasting majority of the celebrities in attendance.
