Luke Hemmings, also known as Dene Broadbelt, Dene Mussillon, Harrison O’Connor and Lucas Hemmings, was the unwitting star on Nine’s A Current Affair last night.

The show investigated allegations of Hemmings defrauding unsuspecting businesses to the tune of half a million dollars.

But A Current Affair also revealed that the Gold Coast recruiter has form.

He has previously turned his hand at being a radio DJ, “failed spectacularly” as a festival promoter, according to A Current Affair, and has also given real estate a go.

“His chequered history stretches from Dubbo to Darwin, Canberra, Sydney, Perth, Goulburn and the NSW South Coast,” according to A Current Affair.

In fact, Hemmings was even served with legal papers outside Southport Court where he was due to face three separate fraud charges.

“People make mistakes in life, I’ve moved on and I’m trying to do my best,” Hemmings told A Current Affair’s Dan Nolan.

Hemmings is scheduled to return to court in October regarding the three fraud charges.

The story seemed to prove a hit with viewers, with the show achieving a Total TV national reach of 1.36 million, an average audience of 934,000 and a BVOD average of 153,000.

Seven’s top-rating show was Home and Away, which had a Total TV national reach of 1.27 million, an average of 926,000 and a BVOD average of 235,000.

On 10, a repeat of The Dog House pulled in an ominous sounding reach of 666,000, an average of 294,000 and a BVOD average of 18,000.
