Aussies love a good scandal and couldn’t get enough of the latest one on Nine’s Married At First Sight.
More than 2.8 million tuned in to watch Bec proclaim her excitement that Steven had “fingerbanged” Rachel as the contestants enjoyed booze at country retreat.
Nearly two-thirds of that audience watched the whole show, which is a remarkably high figure, even by MAFS standards.
Rachel, who has made her insecurities about sex and intimacy previously known, found the ordeal humiliating, a situation that was probably made worse when a slurring Bec threatened to produce ‘Fingerbang’ merch and sell it on Etsy.
Those who wanted to escape the bitchfest and tantrums on Nine, could switch over to Seven’s Australian Idol, which reached 1.74 million viewers and an average audience of around 900,000.
On last night’s episode, Fremantle creative Charlie Moon secured a ‘fast pass’ to the top 12 after judges were blown away by his rendition of The Beatles’ ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’ – a song that Bec should probably listen to once the hangover wears off.
Ten’s Australian Survivor reached 653,000 and had an average audience of 360,000. The show just missed out on a top 10 place in the 16-39 year old demo.
