Nine’s The Block served up another round of housemate tension, as the teams turned their attention to Chantel and Wyatt’s living and dining room — with some particularly scathing feedback on their renovation choices.
The episode then kicked off guest suite week, with the contestants facing the challenge of completing a bedroom and ensuite in a single week. Tayla was abruptly forced to bring in former contestant Spence after her dad Rick was sidelined with a knee infection. It boasted a Total TV National Reach of 1,885,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,090,000.
Following closely behind was Seven’s The Voice Australia with a shock twist as coach Richard Marx refused to send a single contestant through into the next round. Marx rejected Cherry Green, Saem Millward and Dicko, claiming them none had “risen to the occasion”.
It was a shock decision that even left host Sonia Kruger stunned, with fellow judge Ronan Keating saying he had never seen a coach make the call in his 15 years with the global franchise. The episode brought in a national reach of 1,847,000 and an average audience of 988,000.
Quiz show formats Tipping Point Australia and The Chase Australia assumed their regular positions in the top ten, with Nine’s program claiming a national reach of 1,470,000 and an average audience of 793,000. Seven’s rival format was right on its heels with a national reach of 1,460,000 and an average audience of 728,000.
Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention? returned with Kitty Flanagan, Nath Valvo, Hayley Sproull, Ed Kavalee and Sam Pang facing off, with guitarist Danny Estrin joining as this week’s special quizmaster. It had a national reach of 1,062,000 and an average audience of 685,000.
ABC’s Four Corners came in thirteenth with a national reach of 968,000 and an average audience of 589,000. The episode investigated the Christian Brothers’ financial crisis after the Catholic order faced more abuse claims than any other in Australia.
