Put it down to the MAFS effect, but last night Nine’s Travel Guides managed to put one over MKR for viewer eyeballs.

According to OzTAM metro numbers, Travel Guides pulled 758,000, while MKR had to settle for 753,000.

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (291,000) now has a commanding lead of more than 100,000 on Today (181,000).

Still, nothing touched MAFS that boasted an impressive 1.282 million and handed Nine 35 per cent audience share last night.

Seven had to settle for 29.1 per cent, the ABC claimed third with 15.9 per cent, 10 pulled a neat 14 per cent and SBS had 6.2 per cent.

10’s Ambulance Australia – one of the surprises of 2018 – is having a tough time up against MAFS and MKR, it could manage just 366,000 last night. 10’s other notables were The Project (434,000) and 10 News First (390,000).

Seven’s best was its 6pm news (949,000), then MKR, Home And Away (585,000), The Good Doctor (563,000) and The Chase (501,000).

Nine’s 6pm news did 852,000, ACA had 775,000 and Hot Seat (437,000).

The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (727,000), 7.30 (529,000), Foreign Correspondent (380,000) and RBG (316,000).
