It was puppies and parents facing off in the Entertainment Wars last night (and a somewhat distressing mental image for you, dear TV Wrap reader).
In a tight TV ratings race, 10’s The Dog House took the entertainment crown – or perhaps, given the content, the choice cut of prime time steak – with 575,000 viewers.
Next was Seven’s Home and Away with 548,000, while Nine’s Parental Guidance had 520,000 viewers as per OzTAM’s metro data.
It is the eternal battle for peak ‘aww’ factor: cute kids versus cute dogs. You win this time, dogs.
On top overall was Seven News with 918,000 viewers, followed by Nine News with 851,000 viewers, ABC News with 620,000 and ABC News with 620,000.
Also on Seven was The Chase with 490,000 viewers and Big Brother: VIP with 337,000.
For the ABC, 7.30 had 462,000 viewers and The Greek Islands With Julia Bradbury at 302,000, which frankly should be subtitled: Good God, Get Me On A Plane Please.
Nine also leaned into the FOMO with a repeat of Travel Guides at 434,000 viewers, as well as Hot Seat with 375,000 and Tipping Point with 274,000.
Finally, 10 had The Project with 429,000 viewers, The Cheap Seats with 391,000 and 10 News First with 282,000.
Thrillingly, there was a flat tie for first between the Seven Network and the Nine Network, both scoring 28.0 per cent of the daily share. In second was Network 10 with 21.3 per cent, followed by the ABC TV Network with 14.9 per cent and the SBS Network with 7.8 per cent.
