Most people who go into the entertainment industry as performers do so because, frankly, they enjoy the attention of an audience.

Its little surprise, therefore that (for some) wearing a mask can ruin the enjoyment of being on stage during Network 10’s The Masked Singer.

Speaking to News.com.au, the star behind Cowgirl – Courtney Act – revealed that performing under a mask made her grumpy.

“I was so grumpy, because I love performing and I love being on stage. And I thought: This takes all the fun out of it, all the fun things I love about performing. The costume’s very heavy, it’s very hard,” she revealed.

It later became more fun, she added.

“It’s big, it’s inanimate, and you’re trying to give a personality and work out what you can do with it. And that became the fun thing about it. And, it was very fun to be back on TV doing variety performances. I would adore it to be next time with the same level of production and not in a giant cow suit,” she said.

Seven was the most-watched show last night with an audience share of 29.3 per cent. Its top performing shows were Seven News with 828,000 views, The Chase Australia with 532,000 views, Home and Away with 446,000 views and SAS Australia with 384,000 views.
