The Triple M Hot Breakfast team will be heading to Gallipoli for ANZAC Day this year for the 100th anniversary of the landings and some very special broadcasts.
The trip will involve a week of shows from the region and an ANZAC Day Dawn Service broadcast from the shores of ANZAC Cove.
This was announced by the Veterans’ Affairs Minister Senator Michael Ronaldson on The Hot Breakfast show on Monday morning. The show is one of only three Australian radio programs invited by the Federal Government to broadcast from ANZAC Cove this year.
This all comes off the back of Mick Molloy’s recent visit to Afghanistan where he went to entertain Aussie troops as part of his dedicated work and support for the Australian Defence Forces.
This is an enormous privilege and honour for Triple M, The Hot Breakfast and its hosts Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy.
Mike Fitzpatrick, head of Triple M Network said, “It’s an honour and a privilege for Triple M and The Hot Breakfast team to be invited by the Department of Veterans Affairs to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the landing by broadcasting from Anzac Cove. We have a dedicated team travelling with Eddie, Mick and Luke to Gallipoli for a week’s worth of breakfast shows on location- including a very special show on Anzac Day. We are hoping that Melbourne will reflect and commemorate along with us.”
