A senior member of Google UK’s marketing team has been killed in a motor vehicle accident at the week-long Cannes Festival. It has been reported the man was a pedestrian and stepped in front of an oncoming car.
Google has not yet released the man’s name and it has been reported his family is now heading to Cannes from the UK.
B&T approached Google Australia for further comment.
In a statement Google said: “We lost a loved and respected member of our team. We are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
It has been an unhappy year for Google, with another of its American executives, Dan Fredinburg, killed in an avalanche at Mount Everest following the recent earthquake in Nepal.
