Australian lager brand Tooheys New, sponsor of the NSW Blues, has created a limited edition beer can for the upcoming State Of Origin season.
The can has been designed by Sydney-based Japanese artist Kentaro Yoshida and depicts a few of the city’s most well-known landmarks along with some footy-based drawings to show the connection the brand has with New South Wales.
Tooheys New have been an official sponsor for The Blues team ever since 2018, and before that they were with the team for 13 years during their highly successful run in the 90’s.
Lion Australia brand director Chris Allan said about the launch of the new beer can: “The residents of NSW spent most of the State of Origin 2021 season in lockdown, so this year Blues supporters are ready to show up and rally for their team.
“Whether they’re watching the game at home or at a mate’s BBQ, The Tooheys New limited edition can is a great way for fans to show solidarity for The Blues team and love for their state.”
Tooheys New have also announced their partnership with popular punk band These New South Wales, with the creation of a new song called dedicated to the Sydney Blues team for the start of their State Of Origin season.
The song is called The New Anthem, with the band performing their new track at The Brewery at Sydney Olympic Park’s Novotel just before the kick-off of game one on June 8.
The new limited edition beer can by Tooheys New is now available across the state at all good liquor retailers.
