Industry everywhere man Todd Sampson is set to host a new show on Channel Ten called BodyHack.
Filmed around the world over a period of six months, Sampson will take on some of the biggest challenges of his life as he embarks on an epic exploration, investigating some of the world’s most extraordinary people.
The self-described human guinea pig will not just observe them, he will hack into their lives and try to become them.
Using science as his guide, Sampson deconstructs and decodes how these people live, what they do differently from the rest of us and how this impacts the human body.
The award-winning documentary maker faces myriad challenges, including living as a hunter-gatherer in Tanzania, stepping into the ring as a professional MMA Cage Fighter in New Mexico, and confronting his fear of open water to free dive and stride unassisted across the sea floor in Borneo.
Sampson also takes on one of the world’s most dangerous jobs as a Bollywood stuntman, overcomes injury to train with the notorious French Foreign Legion deep in the Amazon jungle, and works as a Himalayan Sherpa at extreme altitude.
Sampson said: “I believe the best way to truly understand people is to walk in their shoes. It’s easy to observe; it’s very difficult to step into their world. There’s a lot we can all learn from those living on the edge and my mission is to learn it, from the inside out.”
