Thursday TV Wrap: AFL Punts Seven To An Easy Win

Seven’s AFL coverage had 551,000 viewers last night as Essendon beat the Sydney Swans, while Nine’s NRL coverage had 379,000 viewers as the Rabbitohs soundly defeated the Broncos.

Coming top of the ratings was Seven News at 863,000 in a classically sedate Thursday night, followed by Nine News with 847,000 viewers, according to OzTAM’s metro data.

ABC News came third, beating A Current Affair with 662,000 followers to 630,000.

10’s Gogglebox again topped the entertainment charts with 536,000 followers, an impressive increase of 27,000 viewers from last week.

The rest of 10’s night had The Project at 349,000 viewers, Territory Cops at 307,000, 10 News First at 296,000, and Bondi Rescue at 281,000.

For the ABC, 7.30  had 521,000 while Back Roads saw host Heather Ewart travel to the historic town of Tenterfield to 418,000 viewers.

Nine’s Hot Seat had 379,000 viewers, exactly matching the NRL numbers, while the pre-match programming had 287,000.

Finally, for Seven, The Chase had 451,000 viewers and Home and Away had 403,000.

Seven (all channels) won the night with 31 per cent of the daily share, while Nine (all channels) came in second with 26 per cent. Network Ten scored third place with 19 per cent, while the ABC Network had 16 per cent.

The SBS Network had six per cent.
