Oodie Says Comfy Clothes Can Help Aussies Get Through Lockdown

New research from the Oodie says that loungewear is a source of comfort during stressful times, such as lockdowns.

The research found that seven in ten, or 72 per cent of Australians wear comfortable clothes at home.

Half of Aussies (49 per cent) said they think soft, warm clothes make them feel less stressed or more physically or psychologically safe.

In fact, last July when Victoria went into lockdown, 20,000 Victorians purchased Oodies. By the end of lockdown in October, that number grew to 85,000.

Davie Fogarty, CEO and founder of The Oodie said, “last year was a difficult time for everyone. Lockdowns in the middle of winter, particularly for Melburnians, can be especially tough. I think the reason The Oodie was so popular during the pandemic was that it offered that source of comfort and cosiness that people were truly after.”

“We all spent a lot more time inside and many would have enjoyed bringing more warmth and fun to their day, especially with our often quirky designs. As a company, we prioritise not only creating a quality product but giving our customers the best experience possible, we really try to listen to their needs and give them that through products such as our Oodies.”
