The Age Apologises To Georgia Tunny After Publishing Comments About Her “Natural” Looks

The Age has apologised to journalist Georgia Tunny after publishing a reader’s letter in its television guide that commented on Tunny’s physical appearance.

Tunny is a reporter and presenter and is a fixture on ABC News Breakfast’s and also a regular on The Project.

Tunny also has a social media following of over 20 thousand and is arguably a name to watch, however, she was reduced to her looks in a reader’s letter The Age published.

The reader’s letter was quite detailed and read: “A lovely natural young woman, not a bottle blonde with fake eyelash extensions or rounded cleavage presenting the weather forecast on ABC News.”

“Welcome Georgia Tunny, a breath of fresh air.”

The letter was bought to ABC Journalist Virginia Trioli’s attention who called out the publication via Twitter.

She even tagged The Age’s journalist Paul Kalina.

According to news.com.au, Gary Alcorn, editor of The Age has apologised for the letter and said: “It was an inappropriate letter that should not have been published.

“We apologise to our readers and Ms Tunny.”
