Stellantis’ global chief marketing officer Olivier François has stepped down from the top marketing role after more than two decades with the automotive giant.
The parent company to Jeep, Fiat and Peugeot among others, has appointed Arnaud Belloni as chief marketing officer for Europe, as part of a series of senior leadership changes across its Enlarged Europe organisation.
François will support Belloni through the transition until mid-October, before continuing with Stellantis as a strategic advisor, where he will contribute to broader areas including brand and product strategy.
François held a number of senior leadership positions across Stellantis’ portfolio, including CEO of Chrysler, Fiat, Abarth, DS Automobiles and Lancia, before taking on the global CMO role in 2008.
During his tenure, he played a significant role in shaping the marketing strategies of Stellantis’ brands and was closely associated with a number of high-profile advertising campaigns including its 2025 Super Bowl spot featuring Harrison Ford for Jeep.
Belloni has returned to Stellantis after previously spending 16 years with the company across its Italian and French brands. Most recently, he served as global chief marketing officer at Renault Group from 2020 and chief branding officer across its brands from 2023.
He will report to Stellantis Enlarged Europe chief operating officer Emanuele Cappellano.
The changes come as Stellantis continues to implement its Fastlane 2030 strategic plan under CEO Antonio Filosa.
“We are delighted to welcome Arnaud back to Stellantis. His global perspective, creative leadership and deep knowledge of our brands will be invaluable assets, as we strengthen marketing across Europe and shape the next chapter for FIAT, Abarth and Lancia,” said Cappellano.
“On behalf of the entire Stellantis team, I want to thank Olivier for his many years of outstanding contributions and leadership across our brands and marketing organization. We wish him every success in his next career chapter and look forward to continuing to benefit from his experience and expertise as a strategic advisor to our Company,” added Filosa.
“After 21 years at FIAT, the time has come for a new chapter. I move to my new responsibility as “Company’s Strategic Advisor” with immense gratitude and pride for what we have accomplished together,” said François in a statement on LinkedIn.
“Fortunately, this isn’t a full goodbye. As Strategic Advisor to Stellantis, I will continue to support Antonio Filosa and Emanuele Cappellano, and put at their service what 21 years have taught me about these extraordinary brands,”
“I leave the role with immense pride in what we built, and an even greater sense of gratitude for the people I built it with, always with Italy at heart,” François added.
Stellantis has not yet named a CMO for its other international markets, including North America.
