Publicis’ Starcom has taken out top spot on the ladder for new business wins for media for the month of January, in doing so knocking OMD – who appeared entrenched in the number spot – back to sixth position.
According to the latest data by global marketing consultancy firm R3, Starcom moved three spots to the number one position following its Ego Pharmaceuticals win.
However, the results need to be put into context, with January the slowest month of the year for new business.
As an example of the discrepancies in the results, MediaCom was up 20 spots from its December position to grab January’s silver. Vizeum was third best placed media agency, followed by Blue449 (formerly Match Media) at fourth, while Carat rounded out the top five.
R3’s full list of media wins for the month of January was as follows. But again, the list needs to be taken in context considering how few new business wins there actually were for the month.
