Stan’s head of originals, Amanda Duthie, has jumped ship, being appointed as the new head of content for Australia and New Zealand at Netflix.
The news comes four months after former content chief Que Minh Luu announced their departure from the streamer.
Duthie has overseen Stan’s content slate since 2021, and her departure will leave a significant hole in the streamer’s content division.
The appointment was announced on LinkedIn yesterday by Netflix vice president of content for the Asia-Pacific region, Minyoung Kim. “Amanda’s exceptional track record as a creative and her highly respected leadership within the local screen industry impressed me deeply,” she wrote.
“I was particularly struck by her knowledge, passion and expertise, and I look forward to working closely with her to continue the success of the ANZ slate at Netflix”.
Katherine Slattery was also announced in the role of content manager for ANZ at Netflix. Formerly scripted development manager at Matchbox, Slattery will work under Duthie in her new role.
Duthie said she was “really excited to be joining the Netflix ANZ content team. As a fan, I’ve loved seeing how Netflix has helped shape the entertainment scene with such a great mix of local and global shows.
“I’ve always been passionate about telling local stories, so can’t wait to build on what’s already been achieved and work with all the talented creative partners across ANZ to take our content even further.”
