Co-founder of Supermassive Simone Gupta is stepping away from the agency after three years.
Gupta took to LinkedIn to announce her departure:
“Following three successful years at Supermassive, I’ve decided it’s time to focus on my next chapter,” she wrote.
“I’m so so proud of what we’ve built and achieved, and super grateful to the amazing team, our wonderful clients, our partners and collaborators, and to Laura and Jon.
“Huge thanks Theo Gupta and my family for supporting me every step of the entrepreneurial journey. I couldn’t do any of this without you.
“Thanks to everyone for their trust, hard work and optimism. Looking forward to celebrating the great things we did.”
Fellow co-founders Jon Austin and Laura Aldington shared a statement on Gupta’s departure with B&T this morning.
“After three fantastic years helping us build Supermassive, Sim has made the decision to depart the agency and head into a new chapter. We’re so grateful to her for the incredible rollercoaster we’ve all shared. Whilst we’ve got some exciting plans for the future of the business which we’ll share soon, we want to make today a moment to focus on thanking Sim for everything, sending her Supermassive hugs, and wishing her every success in her next adventure,” they said.
What’s next for Gupta remains to be seen.
In mid 2023 Aldington, Gupta and Austin launched Supermassive.
Aldington was previously CEO of Host/Havas, Gupta was CEO of Host/Havas PR and Austin was previously creative director at Host/Havas.
Since the launch of Supermassive the trio have built a PR powerhouse, even taking home the Consumer PR Agency of The Year at the latest B&T Awards.
The agency’s 2025 was headlined by driving a world-first legislation to change the age teens can access social media. Supermassive led the PR and government engagement strategy for social change initiative ’36 Months’, pioneered by radio host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wiplfi and Rob Galluzzo, founder of FINCH.
Gupta herself took out the Public Relations category at the most recent B&T Women in Media awards. Again, this was largely due to her role in ’36 Months’.
