Scooter, the Melbourne-based integrated creative and marketing agency, has appointed Josh Mann as creative director and Lucy Riley as senior business manager.
Mann will lead Scooter’s campaign work, while Riley brings retail campaign and client-side marketing experience to the agency’s growing client base.
“Bringing Josh and Lucy on board is a direct result of the momentum we’ve built this year. Josh pairs big ideas with real craft, which is exactly what our clients need to stand out where purchase decisions are made. Lucy knows retail from both the agency and client side, so she gets what our clients are up against,” said Anna Hodgson, CEO of Scooter.
Mann joins Scooter to lead the agency’s campaigns, bringing a rare combination of big-picture creative thinking and hands-on craftsmanship. He will shape the creative direction of Scooter’s work across brand, shopper and retail campaigns.
An award-winning creative leader with more than 16 years in advertising and design, he was recently global head of creative at Movember. He was named one of B&T’s Best of the Best In-House Leaders. Mann is also a passionate advocate for neurodiversity in the creative industry, championing the value that different brains bring to creative teams and the work they produce.
“After a couple of years client side, I feel like I understand, more than ever, the challenges that clients need to solve. I’m also intrigued to see how far, and how effectively, we can push retail creative. It’s an area that’s often overlooked and undercooked. To me, that means it’s an area, where some creative focus, can make a measurable difference. And Scooter is really primed to show people exactly what that difference can look like,” Mann commented on his appointment.
Riley brings a strong track record in managing retail campaigns, combined with client-side marketing experience. Having sat on both sides of the table, she understands the commercial pressures clients face and how to turn them into work that performs in store and online.
With more than seven years in the industry, Riley has worked across major retail accounts, including more than four years on Officeworks. Her experience also spans FMCG, not-for-profit and government, along with marketing in the sustainability sector.
“With insight into both the agency process and the realities of client-side marketing, I know the value of work that’s not just creatively strong, but delivers real results. I’m excited to bring that perspective to Scooter and help our clients make an impact where it counts,” said Riley.
