Realestate.com.au has developed its first real estate app for ChatGPT, offering property seekers a new way to find their next home. Australians can now search in ChatGPT for properties listed for sale on realestate.com.au.
Users can prompt ChatGPT in the same way they speak using conversational language and listings will be delivered directly from realestate.com.au in a map view. The app will show photos, features, listing descriptions, pricing information and will guide buyers to contact an agent, save a property or click to view more on realestate.com.au.
Over time, realestate.com.au will explore additional capability in the app and will work with OpenAI to iterate the experience.
Realestate.com.au ChatGPT app is available to logged in ChatGPT users, who can search for properties to buy anywhere in Australia; apply common filters such as budget, bedrooms, bathrooms and features; sort results by price, newest listings or relevance; view listing previews with up to seven photos, property details and agent information.
Users can ask questions like, “Can you show me 3-bed townhouses near Richmond in Melb under $1.5m with a garage?” They can also refine the search conversationally by telling ChatGPT what to change.
“Some property buyers are beginning to use AI tools in their property journey and we’re seeing a higher uptake with younger property seekers. Ensuring listings on realestate.com.au are easily available to this cohort of Australians means we can support them early in their property search and continue to engage them on platform with personalised experiences and in-depth information on realestate.com.au throughout their entire journey,” REA group chief product and audience officer Jonathan Swift said.
“Property seekers come to realestate.com.au because it’s a trusted source of information and we have more homes for sale than anywhere else. Our success is in connecting property seekers with agents and vendors and our realestate.com.au app in ChatGPT is another way we can do that. Buyers can now find trusted, accurate and up-to-date listings wherever they’re searching.
“This is an exciting milestone as we continue to deliver on our consumer engagement strategy and complements the suite of AI-prime features rolling out on realestate.com.au. Our unparalleled audience and proprietary data places us in a strong position to harness AI and deliver unique and valuable insights and experiences for our customers and consumers,” Swift added.
The launch of the app in ChatGPT follows realestate.com.au’s recent announcement it is continuing to invest in AI-powered features to offer consumers more choice, flexibility and simplify the property journey.
