Private Media Sells Off Women’s Agenda To Publisher Angela Priestley

Publishing company Private Media has sold off its online site Women’s Agenda to its publisher Angela Priestley.

The announcement was made internally yesterday, with Priestley officially taking complete control of the reins from 1 March 2016. Private Media and Priestly confirmed the sale on the phone to B&T this afternoon.

The sale is still in its final processes.

Priestley has been with Women’s Agenda since its inception in 2012 by media heavyweight Marina Go.

Women’s Agenda will be run out a virtual office, Priestley told B&T, which fits in with its contributors’ lifestyles – something the women’s site is big on.

B&T understands Priestley will be the sole editor and publisher of the company as she returns from maternity leave. The current editor, Jane Gilmore, is set to finish up on Monday after her role was made redundant.

Priestley declined to disclose sale terms.

Women’s Agenda will continue to rely on contributors.

The announcement on news site Crikey – which is also published by Private Media – says it’s the third buyout of a Private Media publication in recent months.

Update at 9.30am 26 Feb 2016: An official announcement has been made on the Women’s Agenda site.
