Phillip Island & Visual Domain Join Forces To Showcase Natural Wonders With New Video Campaign

Phillip Island Nature Parks has partnered with video agency Visual Domain and News Corp for an upcoming campaign that showcases the island’s popular tourist attractions, as well as many of its lesser known natural wonders.

Using new technologies such as 360-degree and drone footage, the campaign will comprise of 13 main videos and 37 cut-down versions.

Visual Domain creative director James Lawler, who helped tender for the campaign, said the video series is one of the largest and most challenging projects Visual Domain has ever taken on.

“We only had eight days to film all of the attractions, but the schedule was hard to keep on track due to not being able to control the elements – a lot of the time we were shooting in wild conditions and constantly chasing the perfect light,” he said.

“We wanted to craft a unique and visual story that allowed the viewers to immerse themselves in the experience, from feeling the anticipation of waiting for the penguins to experiencing the enormity and openness of the wetlands.”

News Corp’s head of customer solutions for Victoria, Daniel Onas, said the Phillip Island Nature Parks campaign is the most important project between News Corp and Visual Domain since their recent collaboration began.

“We are extremely excited to have partnered with both Phillip Island Nature Parks and Visual Domain in helping showcase the natural wonder that Phillip Island has to offer,” he said.

“We look forward to bringing this fantastic footage to our audiences across the News Corp network.”

Locations featured in the series include Rhyll Inlet Wetlands, Pyramid Rock, Churchill Island Heritage Farm, Oswin Roberts Reserve, Forrest Caves and Cape Woolamai.

All 37 videos will be available to view on both Phillip Island and Visual Domain’s YouTube channels later this month.
