Pet Circle has teamed up with Seven Communications to launch ‘Better Bowl Bistro’, a one-day pop-up pet café at Centennial Park Federation Pavilion, putting pet wellness firmly on the menu. Backed by new research showing two-thirds of Australian pet parents are boosting their furry friends’ diets with vitamins and probiotics, the campaign taps into a growing focus on preventative care and gut health over reactive treatment.
The campaign was amplified through an integrated communications approach, including PR materials and influencer engagement, with select influencers and petfluencers encouraging their followers to bring both pups and humans along to join the fun. A partnership with Nova Entertainment further supported the campaign, with a rollout of segments across the station in the lead-up and on-the-ground activation from the Nova street team.
“We’re seeing pet parents take a more holistic approach to their furry family, and our research backs this up, with pet parents placing greater emphasis on their health and wellbeing. Many are now regularly incorporating supplements into their pets’ diets, and spending more on their pets, with a growing number of Australians admitting their pets often eat better than they do,” said Ella Lymbereas, VP marketing and eCommerce at Pet Circle.
On the day, Sydneysiders enjoyed free coffee, and a puppachino for their pooch, alongside Sunday’s Bondi OG mini scrolls. Attendees also had the chance to spin the wheel to win a range of lucky prizes, including the Paws for Life Interactive Treat Puzzle, grab some goodie bags, and chat with Pet Circle vets about gut-friendly meals and tips to keep their pets healthy at home.
“Great PR isn’t just about telling people something, it’s about creating something worth talking about. Better Bowl Bistro did exactly that, turning a simple nutrition insight into an experience-led story that media, influencers and pet parents genuinely wanted to engage with – and share,” said Patrice Pandeleos, managing director at Seven Communications.
The activation delivered a strong commercial result, with Pet Circle recording its largest sales week of the calendar year following the event, reaffirming growing demand for pet wellness-led products and experiences.
