Pernod Ricard Australia has announced the appointment of Eric Thomson as its new marketing director.
Thomson joins Pernod Ricard’s Aussie team from the US, where he was the vice president of global marketing for US brands at Pernod Ricard Winemakers for three years.
He replaces Anne Martin, who has transferred to Canada to become the vice president of marketing for Corby Spirit and Wine Limited, a leading Canadian manufacturer, marketer and distributor of spirits and imported wine.
In his new role, Thomson will lead Pernod Ricard’s Australian marketing team to deliver marketing campaigns across the company’s portfolio for brands such as Jacob’s Creek, St Hugo, Brancott Estate, Stoneleigh, Jameson, Absolut, Mumm and Perrier Jouët to maximise the reach of the portfolio within the local market.
Commenting on his appointment, Thomson said: “Australia is a key market for the Pernod Ricard business globally, and I’m excited to start my next Pernod journey as marketing director.
“The Australian market provides a huge amount of opportunity, particularly when it comes to innovation, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to maximise the presence of our brands and provide unique experiences that meet the needs of Australian consumers.”
