KIIS 1065’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show has promoted senior producer Pedro Vitola (lead image) to the role of executive producer.
Vitola has been with The Kyle & Jackie O Show since 2016 after winning the ‘World’s Best Job’ competition as a listener. Vitola excelled at the role and in 2020 was promoted to senior producer. Vitola will replace Sonia Jahshan who is finishing up with the show at the end of the year.
Vitola said: “I am beyond excited to be taking on the role of Executive Producer on The Kyle & Jackie O Show. I look forward to working closely with Kyle, Jackie and the team to achieve great things beyond 2023.”
Breaking the news on air this morning, Kyle Sandilands said: “I’m going to announce to the world that you are the new Executive Producer on the show taking over from Palestine. Look at him, what a powerhouse. Intern Pete, Pedro is now your official boss.”
On the appointment, Tony Aldridge, KIIS 1065 content director, said: “This is a such a well-deserved promotion for Pedro, who over the past six years has grown and developed into the incredible producer he is today. Pedro has been an integral part of the success of the show, and his promotion to EP will ensure a seamless transition for the team into 2023.”
Vitola’s appointment comes off the back of a huge year for Kyle & Jackie O, who officially became Australia’s biggest and most successful radio show ever after Survey 7 results were released earlier this month. The long-running show moved into the #1 Breakfast position overall in Sydney, while also breaking records and attracting the most listeners ever for any radio show in Australia.
In October, the powerhouse radio duo were inducted into the Commercial Radio Hall of Fame at the 33rd annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs), with the show winning a further six ACRA Awards.
Vitola will commence as executive producer when The Kyle & Jackie O Show returns in January 2023.
