Las Vegas is all about F1 this weekend, but with NRL in Vegas just 4 months away, the powers that be in the Rugby League world have other plans.

The NRL is crashing this weekend’s Las Vegas Formula One, rolling out a big advertising blitz to spark local and global buzz for next year’s season opener.

The Herald Sun is reporting that ads for next year’s rugby league bonanza will light up some of Vegas’ most iconic spots, including Allegiant Stadium and Fremont Street.

The NRL’s big plans also include eye-catching billboards on the giant Resorts World hotel, where the teams will be staying while in town.

The star of the campaigns? The Steeden itself, along with an epic catch cry: “Rugby league lands here March 1.”

“We’re all set to launch the NRL and NRLW draws tomorrow for the 2025 season,” NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said. “The season will again kick off in Las Vegas where the game will be showcased to a global audience in the US sports and entertainment capital”.

The Las Vegas Formula One is set to pull in over 300,000 fans, giving the NRL a golden opportunity to showcase itself to a huge crowd ahead of the season kick-off.

This year’s debut Vegas adventure was a hit with NRL officials, attracting a crowd of over 40,000. The campaign launched last year with a series of OOH activations and an epic spot featuring none other than Aussie icon and owner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Russel Crowe.

This year, the NRL is gearing up to take it to the next level in 2025 and they’ve already upped the ante by adding a Super League game and a women’s Test match to the lineup.

The four NRL clubs involved – Canberra Raiders, the New Zealand Warriors, Penrith Panthers, and Cronulla Sharks – are already making plans, with three of the teams set to call Las Vegas home for the event.

The Sharks, taking a page from the Sydney Roosters’ playbook, will kick things off in Los Angeles before heading to Vegas for their big game.

The Vegas buzz is already building, with nearly 30,000 tickets already snapped up for the event set to take place on March 1st.
