NOVA Entertainment has announced the launch of Nova and smoothfm’s Thank You Concert, which will acknowledge the work, and share the stories, of those working in essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nova and smoothfm are working with our music label partners to deliver an exclusive live streamed music event to recognise and say thank you to Australia’s front-line workers on Saturday 20 June.
COVID-19 has had an extensive impact around the world, with countless people quietly playing a vital role in keeping the community safe and the economy running. NOVA Entertainment will provide an opportunity for listeners to nominate and share the story of someone they know who has been working at the forefront of COVID-19 and put them forward to experience Nova and smoothfm’s Thank You Concert.
The power of music has never been more important than it is during this challenging time. NOVA Entertainment will hold a special live streamed music event, to show appreciation and gratitude to those in our community who have been essential workers during COVID-19, from supermarket staff and medical workers to teachers and cleaners or anyone who has been at the front-line during this pandemic
Paul Jackson, NOVA Entertainment’s Chief Programming & Marketing Officer said, “This special live stream music event has been created to celebrate our essential workers and all that they have done to help Australians during this global health crisis.
“We are so grateful that the artists involved are so giving of their time, showing their Australian fans how much they mean to them. It is Nova and smoothfm’s way of allowing listeners to say thank you to special people in their lives – through a music experience curated especially for them. Together with live performances, exclusive interviews and reliving some of the best moments from Nova’s Red Room and smooth Feel Good Night With, Nova and smoothfm’s Thank You Concert is set to be one special event.”
With an incredible line-up featuring some of the biggest and most successful Australian and international artists, this special music event has been made possible through the generosity of artists and record label partners. Hosted by Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small and Richard Wilkins, artists will donate their time to perform exclusively, or share their experiences in intimate interviews and messages, for guests attending this unique event
Keith Urban, Amy Shark, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran and Michael Bublé are the first of over 20 artists involved, with further artists to be announced every day from 3pm on Nova and smoothfm. The full line-up will be revealed in Nova’s Kate, Tim & Marty drive show and with Simon Diaz on smoothfm on Friday 5 June from 3pm.
This special initiative has been supported by Nova Connects, NOVA Entertainment’s social impact arm, that seeks to partner with the community to drive positive social change. Nova Connects launched in 2018 to guide NOVA Entertainment’s efforts beyond tactical charitable giving and utilise the full spectrum of the business to ignite conversation and bring profile to various social issues to drive change.
Alana Howe, NOVA Entertainment’s Head of People Experience said, “This is an incredibly important time to acknowledge those who have supported all of us through this unprecedented crisis. This event, executed and supported right across our business, shows the power of what we can achieve together and most importantly shows the extent of our gratitude for those in our community who have done so much for all of us.”
