Nova 96.9 Appoints Senior Publicist With Breakfast Show Focus

NOVA Entertainment has announced the appointment of Cathrine Mahoney as senior publicist for Nova 96.9, with a dedicated focus on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa breakfast show.

With extensive publicity and communication experience across the entertainment, fashion and sport sectors, Mahoney has held key national publicity and promotions roles for Sony Music over a four and half year period and was sport communications manager and publicist for Channel Nine Sydney for several years.

Most recently Mahoney was head of publicity for luxury fashion and bridal label Johanna Johnson, a role she held for over three and a half years.

NOVA Entertainment’s Sydney station operations director Luke Minto said, “Cathrine has extensive experience, across a wide range of entertainment mediums, and her knowledge of the Nova 96.9 brand made her the right choice for this role with our ‘boys’.

“Cultural fit is also critical for anyone joining NOVA Entertainment and we look forward to seeing Cathrine lead the strategic publicity for Fitzy & Wippa and for her skills to extend across the Nova 96.9 brand.”

Mahoney will work alongside Jane Elliott, NOVA Entertainment’s national publicity director and Rachael Slater, NOVA Entertainment’s senior publicist, who leads the publicity for smoothfm and Nova 96.9’s local and national programs, including Nova’s Kate, Tim & Marty drive show and Smallzy’s Surgery night show.

Mahoney has commenced in her new role.
