Nine has signed a new five-year partnership with Netball Australia, securing all broadcast and streaming rights to Suncorp Super Netball, all Australian Diamonds matches and the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027, from 1 January 2027.

The agreement not only strengthens the Group’s sport portfolio, it creates a significant new commercial platform for brands seeking trusted, high-attention environments and deeper connection with Australian families.

Netball is Australia’s leading team sport for women and girls, with more than 700,000 registered participants, more than one million active players nationally, and connection to seven in ten Australian families.

With coverage spanning the 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport, the broadcast arrangement delivers brands scaled reach, premium live audiences and multiple opportunities across netball.

Nine chief sales officer, Matt James, said the agreement represented a major opportunity for advertisers looking to reach consumer audiences through sport.

“Netball gives brands access to one of the most influential consumer audiences in the country: households, families and women who drive spending decisions every day. It combines trust, passion, participation and strong community connection, which is a rare combination in media,” he said.

“For marketers, this creates the opportunity to show up in a premium, brand-safe environment with real cultural relevance. Across Nine’s ecosystem, from broadcast and streaming to digital, publishing and out-of-home, we can help partners connect with these audiences at scale and with greater impact.

“As women’s sport continues its strong commercial rise, our netball agreement gives brands the chance to grow with it from the front.”

Under the new agreement, fans will be able to watch matches live on 9Now and Stan Sport, with a significant slate of coverage also available free-to-air across the 9Network, including some Super Netball matches each round, all Finals Series matches, all Diamonds internationals, and key matches from the Netball World Cup 2027, including the Diamonds matches, semi-finals and final.

This agreement creates new opportunities for brands across sponsorship integration, category partnerships, data-led planning, total video solutions and cross-platform campaigns through Nine’s integrated media ecosystem.

“There is tremendous synergy between our vision to showcase an Australia that is Made in Netball and Nine’s corporate vision that Australia Belongs Here. Nine has leveraged the opportunity to make a real and meaningful investment into netball when the competition for women’s sport is intensifying. We are so excited about the future ahead and what this partnership can deliver for the entire ecosystem,” said Netball Australia Chair Liz Ellis.

“We have heard consistently from our fans that they want to see more netball content. This sport matters to fans right across our country and for them to be able to watch it together and celebrate their heroes is what creates the magic moments that deepen connections with our game. On behalf of Netball Australia, we thank Nine for their belief and trust in us and we look forward to delivering strong business outcomes for each other,” added Netball Australia CEO Stacey West.

The agreement adds Netball to Nine’s sport portfolios that spans across the NRL, State of Origin, Wallabies and Super Rugby, Premier League, UEFA Champions League, premium year-round Grand Slam tennis, and the Olympic Games.
