Nike Responds After Tiger Woods Goes Viral For Rocking A Different Footwear Brand At Tournament

After Tiger Woods was spotted wearing FootJoy golf shoes – without an iconic tick in sight, long term sponsor Nike has released a statement.

Nike, of course, sponsors some of the biggest names in the sporting world, from Baichun Bhutia to Tiger Woods.

Usually, the deal is that if the footwear giant sponsors you, you aren’t caught dead in anything else. Yes, that means no Adidas under any circumstances.

So, when Woods stepped onto the golf course at The Masters in FootJoy’s shoes, it caused a bit of a frenzy.

Such a frenzy that Nike released a statement that said: “Like golf fans around the world, we are delighted to see Tiger back on the course.

“He is an incredible athlete, and it is phenomenal to see him returning to the game at this level. His story continues to transcend sport and inspire us all. As he continues his return, we will work with him to meet his new needs.”
