Nike has selected Australia as the first country to launch a dedicated local organic TikTok account.
Nike already has a popular global account, @nike, which has earned hundreds of millions of video views with its sport, athlete and creator-driven content.
With its new dedicated @nikeaustralia account, Nike will expand their global reach and offer a window into the mindset of Aussie athletes. The local content model is built on co-creation with collaborators spanning some of Australia’s national teams like @matildas and @socceroos, local athletes, creators, artists and makers.
Nike Pacific, senior managing director, Nick Atkinson said: “Launching @nikeaustralia on TikTok gives us an incredible opportunity to co-create with the athletes and creators that are shaping the culture of sport in Australia,”
“It’s a unique way to share our platform with the communities we serve, and to inspire and support the amplification of youth voices across Sport and Culture.”
Nike has leveraged the new channel to celebrate the launch of its latest Australian National Team Kit via a collaboration with @nikefootball and @socceroos.
TikTok Australia and New Zealand, general manager for global business solutions, Amy Bradshaw said: “With 85 per cent of fans using TikTok as a second screen experience during live events, TikTok has totally reimagined how people experience sports,”
“TikTok takes audiences behind the scenes and gives them an opportunity to really connect with teams, athletes and brands. It’s exciting Australia has been chosen as the first place in the world for Nike to launch their organic channel and I can’t wait to see what they produce.” Bradshaw added.
