News Corp Launches First Lifestyle Magazine For NewsLocal

News Corp has launched the first ever lifestyle magazine for its NSW community newspaper business, designed to be the ultimate guide to what’s going down in Sydney for those seeking a bit of luxury over the holidays.

NewsLocal’s Summer Time features 36-pages of lifestyle, food and fashion content aimed at the prestige market living on both sides of the Harbour Bridge.

The magazine will be distributed next week with NewsLocal publications Mosman Daily, Manly Daily, Wentworth Courier and Inner West Courier, in addition to select retail precincts, bars and cafes across Sydney’s CBD.

Two versions of the publication have been created, with pro surfer Laura Enever featuring on the northern suburbs edition, and model Laura Dundovic featuring on the eastern suburbs and city edition.

An interactive digital environment will be launched on Tuesday to complement Summer Time’s unique content, featuring behind the scenes videos and digital replicas of the two editions.

NewsLocal general manager Tamara Oppen said Summer Time will be the first of a series of custom published magazines offering luxury brands an inspiring and relevant environment to reach the highly sought after audience.

“Our brands have built loyal and trusted relationships with our readers,” she said.

“Our research data demonstrates that 75 per cent of our readers in the eastern and northern suburbs are affluent and love luxury brands and experiences. We created Summer Time to satisfy this need we could see wasn’t currently being met by any other publication in these areas.”

NewsLocal editor-in-chief Kathy Lipari said Summer Time is offering Sydneysiders something new by combining all they need to know about lifestyle, fashion and food in one place.

Summer Time is the only reference guide you need this summer,” she said.

NewsLocal managing editor and Summer Time editor Anita Quigley said she is excited to be offering Sydneysiders essential coverage of where to eat and drink, what to see and where to be seen and, most importantly, what to wear in the city over summer.

Summer Time will feature fascinating insights into beautiful people and places, a bit of sport and a touch of politics from some of News Corp’s best writers,” she said.
