If Nine was hoping this year’s series of This Time Next Year would prove a ‘grower’ with audiences, last night’s numbers would have proven otherwise.
The Karl Stefanovic-hosted show managed just 515,000 according to OzTAM metro numbers and was the 18th most-watched show of the night.
In better news for Nine, The Block put yesterday’s homophobic woes to one side and posted a bullish 978,000.
Nine also won the night with 28.9 per cent audience share (all channels). Seven did 25.1 per cent, 10 did well with 22.2 per cent, the ABC had a neat seventeen and SBS pulled 6.8 per cent.
10’s Have You Been Paying Attention? and Survivor combo did well, posting 819,000 and 810,000 respectively. The Project did 515,000 and 10 News First had 432,000.
Seven’s best was its 6pm news (1.056 million), followed by Home And Away (674,000), The Chase (611,000), Highway Patrol (499,000) and Motorbike Cops (485,000).
Nine’s other movers were its 6pm news (967,000) and ACA (827,000).
In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (276,000) saw off Today (213,000).
The ABC’s evening ran this way: 7pm news (751,000), 7.30 (594,000), Four Corners (567,000), Australian Story (549,000), Media Watch (533,000) and a disappointing Q&A (266,000).
Over at SBS, its best was a repeat of Elizabeth with 169,000.
