If there’s a great quandary of Australian television it has to be Monday night viewing: the ABC’s evening of news and current affairs taking on the might of the free to air’s entertainment shows.
And last night’s victor? 10’s comedy stalwart comedy Have You Been Paying Attention? the evening’s most watched entertainment show with 810,000 viewers. Seven’s Bride & Prejudice pulled 687,000 and Nine’s Family Food Fight rallied to 433,000.
The ABC’s evening running thus: 7pm news (703,000), 7.30 (675,000), Australian Story (632,000), Princess Margaret: Rebel Royal (585,000), Media Watch (556,000) and Q&A (409,000).
Seven won Monday with 29.1 per cent of the eyeballs and, in doing so, relegated Nine into second spot with 24.3 per cent. The ABC pipped 10, 19.9 per cent to 19.6 per cent, respectively. SBS had 7.1 per cent.
Seven’s other performers included: 6pm news (985,000), Today Tonight (958,000), Home And Away (616,000), The Chase (580,000) and God Friended Me (460,000).
Nine did well with its 6pm news (901,000), ACA (800,000) and Hot Seat (469,000).
Over at 10, The Secret Life Of 4 Year Olds pulled 519,000 and The Project had 469,000.
SBS’s best was a repeat of 24 Hours In Emergency that enjoyed 179,000.
