Back in 2010, Australian teen Jessica Watson (pictured) became the youngest person ever to sail the globe solo and unassisted. After seven months at sea, she pulled into Sydney where she was met by cheering crowds and then-prime minister Kevin Rudd.

Ten years later, Watson would face a very different kind of challenge after her partner of 10 years, Cameron Dale, died from a stroke at just 29 years of age. ABC’s latest Australian Story, aired last night, told Watson’s story.

It was a hit with viewers and pulled in 509,000 overnight views. For entertainment, it came in third behind Seven’s Farmer Wants A Wife with 557,000 views and Seven’s The Chase with 540,000 views.

Nine’s Lego Masters: Grand Masters pulled in 448,000 views and Network 10’s I’m a Celebrity pulled in 419,000 views.

Overall, Seven won the night with 32.4 per cent of views, followed by Nine with 25.3 per cent, the ABC with 18.3 per cent, Network
