MKR Enjoys View At The Top As The Habibs Slide Down Ratings Mountain

The “non-Vanilla” show Here Come The Habibs took to the television for a second episode last night, and while coming close to the one million mark, it was no match for My Kitchen Rules.

Nine’s show pulled 944,000 views across the five city metro regions, according to OzTAM overnight figures, making it the eighth watched free to air program last night.

Last week’s premiere episode drew a crowd of over one million, coming in second to MKR on Seven, and in consolidated data since last week has boosted its views by a further 17.8 per cent.

MKR held onto its crown, raking in over 1.5 million views, followed by Seven and Nine news programs and The Big Bang Theory.

Nine’s co-head of Drama Andy Ryan had told B&T, “We’re getting a sense of the show going big online, with a subset of the audience finding the show through non-traditional means”, and this statement rings true.

In OzTAM’s first Video Player Measurement report on Monday, which measures TV views online, The Habibs pulled 45,000 VPM ratings through internet catch ups.

Seven’s second episode of Wanted also aired last night, coming in with 22,000 less views than The Habibs.
