GroupM media agency Mindshare collaborated with key partners oOh!media, REA Group, ARN, Spotify and Bells Hotel to host a fundraiser to help raise money for those affected by the devastating bushfires which have and continue to rage across Australia.
Hosted at Bells Hotel, Melbourne, the agency brought together media partners, staff and clients for a performance from Mindshare’s house band DCM and a silent auction with items donated from media and clients including; NAB, Foxtel, Playground XYZ, SCA, Verizon, JCDecaux, Pedestrian, News, InMobi, Val Morgan, Ten, Nine, SBS and QMS Media.
For over six months bushfires have devastated the country. While there have been many charity funds already raised across Australia, more funds are still needed to help communities rebuild. Mindshare wanted to help and with GroupM’s key charity partner UnLtd raise and donate as many funds as possible.
The agency smashed its target raising close to $10,000. Funds will be donated to UnLtd’s Bushfire Appeal, with all proceeds going to help young people in the bushfire regions.
Tiffany Damm from UnLtd said: “Congratulations on a fantastic night, Run DCM had the place rocking. Thank you to Mindshare and all the Melbourne media for getting behind UnLtd’s Bushfire Appeal.”
Thomas Dobson, NAB general manager of planning, performance & partnerships, added: “We feel so proud that a partner like Mindshare can galvanise their teams around such a worthy cause after the devastation that has impacted everyone including our employees and customers. The fires affected many of us and for me personally it brought back memories of Canberra in January 2003 and the firestorm that consumed the home I grew up in. The road to recovery will be tough for many families and businesses so all funds raised by events like Mindshare’s demonstrate real care and a shared purpose.”
Kerry Field, Mindshare Melbourne managing director, concluded: “The support we’ve had from our media partners for this event, in terms of sponsorship and auction prizes, has been phenomenal. I’m also in awe of the commitment the Mindshare band have put into their first public appearance. This is a showcase for what can be achieved when the industry bands together to make a difference.”
