A series of documentaries have been created for the HIV Foundation Queensland to combat rising HIV infection rates in the state.
The project was created by MediaCom, MediaCom Beyond Advertising and production house Hoodlum. It marks the second phase of the E.N.D H.I.V. campaign, the fight to stop the spread of HIV.

Kathleen Banks, group director and client service lead, MediaCom said of the work: “It came about through strategy development where we identified there was a need to get real people talking about HIV – people that actually were experiencing it.”
The team started working on the projects at the end of last year and after putting the concept through a research phase, casting began. Social media sites Facebook and Instagram were used to find people willing to speak about their condition, as well as speaking to health organisations including Queensland Positive People.
The three documentaries were directed by Mikey Trotter who has worked on numerous film and television projects including UK series Pineapple Dance Studios and The Real Housewives of Melbourne. He has also created work for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
The videos are currently being seeded to target the gay community in Queensland.
MediaCom’s Banks said: “We’re immensely proud of them. They have been beautifully produced and done.”
