M&C Saatchi Group’s 1440 Shuts Up Shop

Advertising and marketing network M&C Saatchi Group has confirmed it will cease operations for retail division 1440.

An M&C Saatchi spokesperson told B&T: “Three years ago, we saw an opportunity for 1440, a retail division of the M&C Saatchi Group.

“However, increasingly, we found the two agencies working alongside each other and it didn’t make sense to have two brands in the market.”

The spokesperson said 1440’s employees and clients will remain within the M&C Saatchi Group.

According to 1440’s website, its clients included Barbeques Galore, BWS, Commonwealth Bank, Freedom, Lexus, Little Bud, NRMA Insurance, Sydney Airport, The Athlete’s Foot, The College of Law, Woolworths and Wotif.

The move comes after M&C Saatchi Group merged its sponsorship and experiential business, M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, with its consumer PR business, Hidden Characters, last month.
