Channel Nine says its standing by its embattled failing relationships show Last Resort, however, last night’s viewer numbers will give network bosses little heart.
Last Resort sank to a worrying 371,000 viewers according to overnight OzTam figures and even got beaten by SBS in some demographics.
However, it was better news over at Ten, with MasterChef winning the night with 958,000 viewers. The stalwart cooking show had struggled since launch but seems to be now attracting viewers rather than shedding them.
Channel Seven won the night on the back of it news and House Rules that snared 807,000. Seven scored 27.9 per cent of last night’s TV audience, with Nine second with 25.2 per cent, Ten with 21.8 per cent, the ABC 17.6 per cent and SBS with 7.6 per cent.
The ABC had a reasonably good Wednesday with its news (738,000), Anh’s Brush With Fame (623,000) and The Weekly With Charlie Pickering (592,000) all doing well for the public broadcaster.
