Majority Of People Loving David Jones’ New Brand Ambassador, Minority Still Booing

David Jones announced new brand ambassador including former Sydney Swans stars Adam Goodes, DJs’ Facebook has received mixed reception for featuring the former footy star and Australian of the Year.

This is the former Australian of the Year and two time Brownlow Medalist first new role since he retired from the Sydney Swans last month. Goodes will advise David Jones on reconciliation issues and its corporate social responsibility program.

David Jones “It’s In You” campaign features ambassadors including Jessica Gomes, You Am I frontman Tim Rogers, Alex Russell, Tahnee Atkinson, Juliette Barton and Amy Pejkovic. The campaign was created by Whybin\TBWA & Maud.

The Facebook comments began appearing soon after the retailer posted the campaign video, some applauded the campaign for its diverse brand ambassadors:

From the time of posting there were 864 comments on “It’s In You” campaign.

The video has been viewed 180,709 times, shared 207 times and ‘liked’ 1,991 times; of the 732 comments one lucky B&T worker counted only 105 comments which were ‘negative’ towards Adam Goodes. The negative comments including people booing Goodes’ role as ambassador, Goodes copped months of booing from AFL crowds:

However the majority of comments have been positive and supportive of the campaign.
